Scholastic Book Covers and Interiors
Paperback, Hardcover, Interiors
Cover concepts were based on previous covers, the ongoing story, and personal preferences. I communicated this to illustrators and a sketch was collected.
I designed several cover drafts and reviewed in a cover meeting. Critiques were incorporated into the design and then illustrators were notified to go to final art.
Final art was then edited to avoid crashes, color correct, extend beyond the trim, and fulfill other needs. Once finalized a complete mechanical can be created.
Interiors began with the manuscript and paginating the manuscript. This prelayout was sent to the illustrator and sketches were sent back. These were inputted and the art and words were adjusted until both were as clear and correct as they could be.
